Somebody in slot 246 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Giants sat still while Cam Skattebo, the No. 105 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

Whatever Jaxson Dart becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. They will need Dart to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
