DutchNugget DRAFTING FOR THEPatriots

FutureF
The Patriots finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a F. There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Patriots started one anyway for Jacob Dobbs, 190 picks ahead of schedule. It bottoms out at a F.
The whole projection now runs through Jayden Daniels; hit there and everything else looks smarter. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.
They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring. On value alone, Morgan makes the weekend a net positive.
Bottom line, it will take a lot of luck to make this look better later.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Malik Nabers
In the Round 1 slot they get a weapon on the perimeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick6
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
No drama and no debate, Jayden Daniels went about where he belonged in Round 1, Pick 6. The roster fit checks out.
Pick34
Rnd2
Terrion Arnold
A reasonable price with a little left over, Terrion Arnold in No. 34. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick36
Rnd2
Javon Foster
A wild overpay on Javon Foster in pick 36, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick37
Rnd2
Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe at slot 37 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick38
Rnd2
Jermaine Burton
Jermaine Burton at the 38th overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick66
Rnd3
Jackson Powers-Johnson
Jackson Powers-Johnson in the 66th pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick67
Rnd3
Jordan Morgan
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Jordan Morgan in Round 3, Pick 3, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick73
Rnd3
Jack Sawyer
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jack Sawyer. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick139
Rnd5
Ben Sinnott
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Ben Sinnott. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick180
Rnd6
Ricky Pearsall
A big swing on Ricky Pearsall at slot 180, well ahead of any board in the building. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick192
Rnd6
Hayden Hatten
They talked themselves into Hayden Hatten at pick 192, and the board did not agree. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick216
Rnd6
Jacob Dobbs
Jacob Dobbs at No. 216 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A minor need, but a need all the same.
