Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall

FutureA
The phones sank the Seahawks this weekend: D. When the story of this class is written, it opens with Joe Milton III at the Round 5 slot, a reach of 52 spots that the board flatly disagrees with.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Spending an early pick on TE-EDGE with edge rusher, linebacker and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.
The Puni pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Kool-Aid McKinstry
In the 28th overall pick they get a potential shutdown corner. Need was not the driver here.
Pick44
Rnd2
T'Vondre Sweat
No drama and no debate, T'Vondre Sweat went about where he belonged in the Round 2 slot. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick76
Rnd3
Jaden Hicks
Jaden Hicks at Round 3, Pick 12 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick77
Rnd3
Ja'Lynn Polk
They did well to land Ja'Lynn Polk in the 77th pick, just ahead of his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick78
Rnd3
Michael Hall Jr.
Michael Hall Jr. at No. 78 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick81
Rnd3
Cade Stover
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending slot 81 on Cade Stover with edge rusher, linebacker and other spots unsolved.
Pick99
Rnd3
Zak Zinter
No edge and no loss on Zak Zinter in pick No. 99; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick113
Rnd4
Sataoa Laumea
They took Sataoa Laumea at par in slot 113, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick119
Rnd4
Dominick Puni
Dominick Puni at No. 119 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick147
Rnd5
Joe Milton III
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Joe Milton III well ahead of where he belonged. It fills a real need, too.
Pick151
Rnd5
AJ Barner
A reach for AJ Barner in the 151st overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
