A passer of the future in McCarthy, and a B-, for the Broncos.

Somebody in pick 242 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Broncos sat still while Dorian Singer, the No. 176 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

J.J. McCarthy gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The cost of the McCarthy reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

They were the ones paying the moving tax this weekend.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
