The Giants did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Tez Johnson fell into the Round 5 slot. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. If Carter pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
