Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Giants were there to profit. R.J. Mickens, the No. 214 name on the board, should have been long gone before slot 248. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The veteran additions, Matthew Stafford chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
