Draft Grade — Giants
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Giants: B-.

The Giants clearly saw something nobody else did in Deone Walker, taking him 21 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. The Ransaw value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Travis Hunter
No drama and no debate, Travis Hunter went about where he belonged in No. 3. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick34 Rnd2 Tyler Booker
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tyler Booker. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick65 Rnd3 Deone Walker
Deone Walker in pick 65 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick99 Rnd3 Cam Skattebo
The board had cheaper options than Cam Skattebo at the Round 3 slot, and it noticed. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick105 Rnd4 Anthony Belton
Anthony Belton at Round 4, Pick 3 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick154 Rnd5 Jah Joyner
By-the-book stuff, Jah Joyner at slot 154 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick219 Rnd7 Caleb Ransaw
Caleb Ransaw at Round 7, Pick 3 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick246 Rnd7 Teddye Buchanan
Teddye Buchanan in the 246th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It adds depth where they could use a little.
