Draft Grade — Giants
Overall D-
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureC-
Quarterback settled, Sanders in the fold, and a D- for the Giants.

The phones were a trap the Giants kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. Put together, it is a D-.

The whole projection now runs through Shedeur Sanders; hit there and everything else looks smarter. If Truss pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Shedeur Sanders
In No. 6 they get the face of the franchise. A real need, handled.
Pick9 Rnd1 Benjamin Morrison
In the 9th pick they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick38 Rnd2 Isaiah Bond
Isaiah Bond at the 38th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick70 Rnd3 Donovan Edwards
Donovan Edwards in the Round 3 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick102 Rnd4 Malachi Moore
Malachi Moore at slot 102 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick134 Rnd5 Cobee Bryant
They paid a round early for Cobee Bryant in pick No. 134, more than the board wanted. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick139 Rnd5 Fernando Carmona Jr.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Fernando Carmona Jr.. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick166 Rnd6 Xavier Truss
They talked themselves into Xavier Truss at pick 166, and the board did not agree. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick198 Rnd7 Paris Shand
They paid up for Paris Shand at the 198th overall pick when waiting would have done the job. The roster fit checks out.
Pick219 Rnd7 Terrance Ferguson
They did well to land Terrance Ferguson in No. 219, just ahead of his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
