Draft Grade — Giants
Overall C+
ValueB- NeedB TradesC- FutureB-
A mixed bag for the Giants, and a C+ to match.

Some picks age like wine; Teddye Buchanan at the 194th pick will need to, sitting 64 spots clear of his grade. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C+ in the wash.

Warren at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.

In the end, one you will need a couple of seasons to truly judge.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 Armand Membou
In the Round 1 slot they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick34 Rnd2 James Pearce Jr.
A quiet steal in slot 34: James Pearce Jr. for less than the market said. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick45 Rnd2 Tyler Warren
The board fumbled Tyler Warren all the way to pick 45, and they scooped it up. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick65 Rnd3 Donovan Jackson
They took Donovan Jackson at par in No. 65, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick70 Rnd3 Jalen Milroe
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jalen Milroe well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick99 Rnd3 Jamaree Caldwell
They reached a country mile for Jamaree Caldwell at Round 3, Pick 35, and the board is aghast. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick105 Rnd4 Oluwafemi Oladejo
They reached into another round for Oluwafemi Oladejo, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It fills a real need, too.
Pick111 Rnd4 Zy Alexander
Zy Alexander in slot 111 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick145 Rnd5 Bhayshul Tuten
A reach on Bhayshul Tuten in the 145th overall pick; the board had better options right there. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick154 Rnd5 Ty Robinson
They paid up for Ty Robinson at No. 154 when waiting would have done the job. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick194 Rnd6 Teddye Buchanan
A big swing on Teddye Buchanan at pick No. 194, well ahead of any board in the building. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick219 Rnd7 Kitan Crawford
Kitan Crawford in Round 7, Pick 3 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick246 Rnd7 Jalen Travis
Jalen Travis at the Round 7 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
