Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Steelers.

Of all the ways to open, the Steelers chose the head-scratcher, spending Round 4, Pick 35 on Beau Stephens with quarterback, edge rusher and other spots still wide open.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Scott.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick21 Rnd1 Sonny Styles
In slot 21 they get a three-down second-level presence. A real need, handled.
Pick53 Rnd2 Caleb Banks
Value with a capital V on Caleb Banks in pick No. 53, a genuine coup. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick76 Rnd3 Keionte Scott
The board had Keionte Scott higher than pick 76, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. The roster fit checks out.
Pick85 Rnd3 Skyler Bell
A straight-up fair deal on Skyler Bell at No. 85, value and slot in agreement. It fills a real need, too.
Pick99 Rnd3 Bud Clark
Bud Clark in the 99th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick121 Rnd4 Jude Bowry
Jude Bowry at the Round 4 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick135 Rnd4 Beau Stephens
They bypassed pressing needs at quarterback, edge rusher and other spots to take Beau Stephens, an offensive lineman that was not the priority.
