The trade table was a mismatch, and the Bears were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value.

Getting Smith where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up. Adding Saquon Barkley by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
