Draft Grade — Giants
Overall C+

The Giants found their guy under center in Milroe: C+.

The Giants spent the pick that matters most on Jalen Milroe, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.

They will need Gordon II to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.

Getting Moore where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

In the end, one you will need a couple of seasons to truly judge.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 Jalen Milroe
In No. 9 they get the face of the franchise, though the board says they badly overpaid. A real need, handled.
Pick40 Rnd2 Ollie Gordon II
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Ollie Gordon II well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick71 Rnd3 Emery Jones Jr.
A tidy little value on Emery Jones Jr. in Round 3, Pick 7, a step better than break-even. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick107 Rnd4 Rod Moore
The board had Rod Moore higher than pick No. 107, and the safety fell to them anyway. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick134 Rnd4 Tez Johnson
No drama and no debate, Tez Johnson went about where he belonged in the 134th pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick154 Rnd5 Benjamin Morrison
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Benjamin Morrison at the Round 5 slot. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick219 Rnd7 Deion Burks
They paid sticker price for Deion Burks in pick 219, and that is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick242 Rnd7 Mason Taylor
Mason Taylor in slot 242 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
