Draft Grade — Giants
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureA
Larceny in the 54th pick lands the Giants a A-, Starks and all.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Giants came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. Just about everything broke right, and the A- follows.

The cost of the Vann reach is exactly the players who went right after him. That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. Adding Jaire Alexander by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Nick Emmanwori and all.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Nick Emmanwori
In the 23rd overall pick they get a rangy last line of defense. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick34 Rnd2 Luther Burden III
The board had Luther Burden III higher than slot 34, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick54 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
Malaki Starks at No. 54 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick65 Rnd3 Barrett Carter
Barrett Carter in pick No. 65 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick99 Rnd3 Jalen Milroe
Nothing to complain about; Jalen Milroe went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick105 Rnd4 Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo at Round 4, Pick 3 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick154 Rnd5 Ajani Cornelius
Ajani Cornelius at pick 154 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick219 Rnd7 Joshua Gray
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Joshua Gray at No. 219 is the proof. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick246 Rnd7 Davin Vann
Davin Vann at slot 246 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It fills a real need, too.
