Draft Grade — Browns
Overall A-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureA+
The Browns answered their biggest question with Dart. Grade: A-.

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jaxson Dart is the Browns' quarterback, full stop.

That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The phones were where this weekend was really won.

Reaching for Dart left real value on the table behind him. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Jaxson Dart and all.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 Jaxson Dart
In slot 14 they get a franchise quarterback, a steep price for the projection. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick33 Rnd2 Emeka Egbuka
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Emeka Egbuka at pick 33. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick45 Rnd2 JT Tuimoloau
JT Tuimoloau in No. 45 is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick67 Rnd3 Azareye'h Thomas
Azareye'h Thomas slid further than he should have, and the 67th pick is lovely value for the cornerback. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick80 Rnd3 Cameron Williams
Value with a capital V on Cameron Williams in Round 3, Pick 16, a genuine coup. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick94 Rnd3 Mason Taylor
They let Mason Taylor come to them and pounced at the Round 3 slot. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick104 Rnd4 Ozzy Trapilo
Taking Ozzy Trapilo in the 104th overall pick is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick179 Rnd6 Malachi Moore
Malachi Moore at pick No. 179 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The roster fit checks out.
Pick192 Rnd6 Chase Lundt
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Chase Lundt in the 192nd pick, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick200 Rnd6 Nazir Stackhouse
They took Nazir Stackhouse at par in the Round 6 slot, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick216 Rnd6 Jay Higgins
Steal is underselling it; Jay Higgins at the 216th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick255 Rnd7 Kaden Prather
This one needs a full-page explanation: Kaden Prather in Round 7, Pick 39, miles early. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
