The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: T.J. Sanders, the Round 7 slot, roughly 213 picks past where he belonged. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

They will need Dolac to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The whole projection now runs through Cam Ward; hit there and everything else looks smarter. They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
