A respectable, level-headed haul for the Texans: B-.

Of all the ways to open, the Texans chose the head-scratcher, spending the Round 4 slot on James Williams with interior defensive lineman, quarterback and other spots still wide open. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. If Jones pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

The Simpson steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
