The Commanders did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Jayden Higgins fell into the Round 5 slot. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
