A solid, sensible weekend for the Raiders: B-.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Princely Umanmielen at pick 6 is 28 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.

They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Revel Jr. at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Princely Umanmielen
In Round 1, Pick 6 they get a double-digit-sack hope, a steep price for the projection. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick37 Rnd2 Shavon Revel Jr.
Shavon Revel Jr. slid further than he should have, and the 37th pick is lovely value for the cornerback. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick68 Rnd3 Tate Ratledge
They took Tate Ratledge at par in No. 68, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick108 Rnd4 Joshua Farmer
Joshua Farmer at the 108th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick143 Rnd5 Andres Borregales
Andres Borregales at slot 143 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick180 Rnd6 Ollie Gordon II
Ollie Gordon II in the Round 6 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick213 Rnd6 Kobe Hudson
By-the-book stuff, Kobe Hudson at the 213th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick215 Rnd6 Caleb Ransaw
Caleb Ransaw at pick 215 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick222 Rnd7 R.J. Mickens
They let R.J. Mickens come to them and pounced at the Round 7 slot. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
