There is a lot to like until you notice wide receiver is still a hole. The 49ers never got to the one that mattered most. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

They will need Jackson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 2 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
