You could see the war room lean forward. Nick Emmanwori at the 47th pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. The veteran additions, Michael Mayer chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one. On the needs board they went 3 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
