The Panthers found their guy under center in Ewers: D.

The Panthers treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending the Round 3 slot on Jamon Dumas-Johnson a full 33 spots early.

So much rides on Quinn Ewers that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. They will answer for taking interior defensive lineman early while wide receiver and running back went begging.

For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain. Getting Umanmielen where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
