There is reaching, and then there is Maema Njongmeta at the 255th pick. The Packers jumped the board by 75 and dared it to prove them wrong. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

However the rest shakes out, Gould at that price is a win they earned. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a premier pass rusher, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick41 Rnd2 Kamari Lassiter
They paid sticker price for Kamari Lassiter in No. 41, and that is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick58 Rnd2 Jermaine Burton
They took Jermaine Burton at par in slot 58, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick88 Rnd3 Max Melton
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Max Melton in the Round 3 slot. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.

Jaden Hicks in pick 91 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It adds depth where they could use a little.

Braelon Allen in the 126th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.

Anthony Gould in the Round 5 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It fills a real need, too.
