FutureB-
The Packers let Stukes fall into their laps, and walked away with a D. Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Packers, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. A D that will need time and luck to look better.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. They will need Bowry to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
They banked enough surplus on Stukes to cover a lot of smaller sins. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
Pick Analysis
Pick38
Rnd2
Chris Johnson
Fair-plus on Chris Johnson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick47
Rnd2
Caleb Banks
Caleb Banks at the Round 2 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick84
Rnd3
Jake Slaughter
They barely believed it either: Jake Slaughter still on the board at No. 84. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick105
Rnd4
Treydan Stukes
Treydan Stukes at the 105th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick114
Rnd4
Jude Bowry
Jude Bowry in slot 114 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick139
Rnd4
Will Lee III
Will Lee III slid further than he should have, and pick No. 139 is lovely value for the cornerback. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick236
Rnd7
Thaddeus Dixon
Thaddeus Dixon at the 236th pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick255
Rnd7
Barion Brown
They liked Barion Brown enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 255. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
