The Buccaneers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and M.J. Devonshire fell into the Round 7 slot. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.

They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. The Solomon pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with interior defensive lineman, tight end and other spots still on the board. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

A quiet steal in Round 6, Pick 45: Julian Pearl for less than the market said. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.

M.J. Devonshire in the 246th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It fills a real need, too.
