Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesC+ FutureB
Good, not great, for the Packers: B.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Rondell Bothroyd at pick 217 is 69 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Harrison Jr. falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Nothing gained and nothing lost at the table.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Marvin Harrison Jr.
In pick No. 25 they get a difference-maker at receiver, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick46 Rnd2 Jonah Elliss
They did well to land Jonah Elliss in No. 46, just ahead of his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick57 Rnd2 Kiran Amegadjie
A tidy little value on Kiran Amegadjie in slot 57, a step better than break-even. The roster fit checks out.
Pick88 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
A reasonable price with a little left over, Mike Sainristil in Round 3, Pick 25. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick91 Rnd3 Jaden Hicks
A premium they did not need to pay, Jaden Hicks a notch or two before his time. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick125 Rnd4 Kris Abrams-Draine
Nothing to complain about; Kris Abrams-Draine went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick135 Rnd4 Javon Foster
Fair-plus on Javon Foster, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick153 Rnd5 James Williams
They barely believed it either: James Williams still on the board at Round 5, Pick 17. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick203 Rnd6 Michael Wiley
A quiet steal in pick No. 203: Michael Wiley for less than the market said. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick217 Rnd6 Rondell Bothroyd
Rondell Bothroyd in the Round 6 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick219 Rnd6 Omar Speights
Omar Speights slid further than he should have, and pick 219 is lovely value for the linebacker. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick246 Rnd7 Carson Steele
The board had cheaper options than Carson Steele at slot 246, and it noticed. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
