Draft Grade — Jets
Overall C-
ValueC- NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureF
A franchise passer in Chambliss headlines a C- weekend for the Jets.

The search is over. The Jets handed the keys to Trinidad Chambliss, and the whole operation now runs on his development.

The Chambliss pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class.

Aguero falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They punted on cornerback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

In the end, a coin-flip class: fine today, with a wide range of outcomes ahead.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Trinidad Chambliss
In Round 1, Pick 11 they get a long-term answer under center, though the board says they badly overpaid. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick17 Rnd1 KJ Bolden
In pick 17 they get a downhill hitter at safety at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick42 Rnd2 Jordan Ross
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jordan Ross this early at No. 42. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick47 Rnd2 Kewan Lacy
Kewan Lacy at pick No. 47 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The roster fit checks out.
Pick73 Rnd3 Bray Hubbard
Bray Hubbard in the 73rd overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick144 Rnd5 Earl Little Jr.
Earl Little Jr. in slot 144 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick232 Rnd7 Sheridan Wilson
Fair-plus on Sheridan Wilson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It fills a real need, too.
Pick242 Rnd7 Joenel Aguero
A safety of that caliber at the Round 7 slot is the definition of value, full stop. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
