FutureB
No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Seahawks. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Seahawks reached some 48 spots for AJ Barner, and value like that does not grow back. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
The Jackson pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Jackson Powers-Johnson
In Round 1, Pick 31 they get a building block for the line, though the board says they badly overpaid. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick56
Rnd2
Graham Barton
Graham Barton at No. 56 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick63
Rnd2
McKinnley Jackson
This one needs a full-page explanation: McKinnley Jackson in the Round 2 slot, miles early. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick78
Rnd3
Darius Robinson
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Darius Robinson. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick93
Rnd3
Jaden Hicks
They went early on Jaden Hicks in slot 93, and the value did not follow. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick119
Rnd4
Jordan Travis
Jordan Travis at the 119th overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick131
Rnd4
Cedric Gray
They took Cedric Gray at par in Round 4, Pick 31, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick155
Rnd5
AJ Barner
AJ Barner at No. 155 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick194
Rnd6
Braiden McGregor
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Braiden McGregor well ahead of where he belonged. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick233
Rnd7
Nathaniel Watson
Value said wait; Nathaniel Watson in the 233rd overall pick says they were not listening. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick242
Rnd7
Trevor Keegan
Trevor Keegan in slot 242 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick248
Rnd7
Jha'Quan Jackson
They will replay Jha'Quan Jackson at the Round 7 slot for years; that is how good the value is. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick249
Rnd7
Jase McClellan
Value with a capital V on Jase McClellan in pick 249, a genuine coup. It fills a real need, too.
