The Seahawks kept it disciplined and banked a B-. They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Darius Robinson, 60 picks early at slot 61.
Landing Wilson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Troy Fautanu
In slot 29 they get a building block for the line. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick47
Rnd2
Jackson Powers-Johnson
No drama and no debate, Jackson Powers-Johnson went about where he belonged in the Round 2 slot. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick61
Rnd2
Darius Robinson
A big swing on Darius Robinson at the 61st pick, well ahead of any board in the building. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick78
Rnd3
McKinnley Jackson
They went early on McKinnley Jackson in the 78th overall pick, and the value did not follow. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick83
Rnd3
Payton Wilson
Payton Wilson in Round 3, Pick 19 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick119
Rnd4
Cole Bishop
They liked Cole Bishop enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 119. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick151
Rnd5
Braelon Allen
The board had cheaper options than Braelon Allen at Round 5, Pick 15, and it noticed. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick153
Rnd5
AJ Barner
They reached into another round for AJ Barner, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick194
Rnd6
Michael Barrett
Good price on Michael Barrett in pick No. 194, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick207
Rnd6
Bub Means
A tidy bit of business in the 207th pick, where Bub Means graded well above the range. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick247
Rnd7
Jack Westover
They paid up for Jack Westover at the Round 7 slot when waiting would have done the job. It fills a real need, too.
