Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall C
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesF FutureB-
The 49ers let Moss fall and pounced. Final grade: C.

The 49ers spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Le'Veon Moss, the No. 149 name on the board, in the Round 7 slot. A mixed bag that lands at C.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They will need Monheim to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Call it incomplete, and check back in a couple of seasons.

Pick Analysis
Pick13 Rnd1 Will Campbell
In pick No. 13 they get an anchor for the offensive line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick25 Rnd1 Kenneth Grant
In the 25th overall pick they get a run-stuffing presence up front at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick55 Rnd2 Tyler Baron
They reached into another round for Tyler Baron, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick61 Rnd2 Tyler Warren
A slide stopped in the 61st pick, with Tyler Warren worth more than the price. The roster fit checks out.
Pick75 Rnd3 Darien Porter
They took Darien Porter at par in pick 75, which is nothing to complain about. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick86 Rnd3 Omarr Norman-Lott
Omarr Norman-Lott in Round 3, Pick 22 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick137 Rnd4 Kevin Winston Jr.
Somehow Kevin Winston Jr. was still sitting there in the Round 4 slot, and they pounced on premier safety value. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick186 Rnd6 Jonah Monheim
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jonah Monheim well ahead of where he belonged. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick221 Rnd7 Jamon Dumas-Johnson
Jamon Dumas-Johnson at No. 221 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick230 Rnd7 Le'Veon Moss
They barely believed it either: Le'Veon Moss still on the board at Round 7, Pick 14. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick249 Rnd7 Garrett Dellinger
A reach for Garrett Dellinger in the Round 7 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
