The Cardinals did not so much draft Kyle McCord as overpay for him, 125 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

The Reid steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

They went early on Cameron Williams in No. 16, and the value did not follow. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.

A slide stopped in the 47th overall pick, with Mike Green worth more than the price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.

The board had cheaper options than Aeneas Peebles at Round 3, Pick 14, and it noticed. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.

They reached a country mile for Kyle McCord at pick 114, and the board is aghast. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick153 Rnd5 Karene Reid
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Karene Reid in pick No. 153, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
