The 49ers fleeced the room on the phones and earned a A-.

There was a run on nobody at that position, and the 49ers started one anyway for Thor Griffith, 78 picks ahead of schedule. Very little went wrong, and the A- is earned.

Landing Knight Jr. that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The veteran additions, Jalen Ramsey chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Nick Emmanwori and all.
