The Broncos got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D-.

The tape said wait; the Broncos did not. DeMonte Capehart went at the 224th pick, a good 79 picks before the board was ready. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D- is the result.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back. They banked enough surplus on Nix to cover a lot of smaller sins.

It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and running back is still a hole.
