Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall F
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureD-
Daniels is the Seahawks' new face under center. Grade: F.

You can hear the double-takes from here. The Seahawks took Jordan Toles at slot 236, roughly 33 spots before his name belonged. Little went right, and the F does not pretend otherwise.

Jayden Daniels gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

About as rough as a weekend gets on paper, with running back still staring back at them.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In pick No. 8 they get a passer to set the clock by at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick13 Rnd1 Dallas Turner
In slot 13 they get a bendy edge with upside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick16 Rnd1 Kool-Aid McKinstry
Kool-Aid McKinstry in pick 16 is fair value, right on his grade. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick33 Rnd2 Tyler Nubin
A reasonable price with a little left over, Tyler Nubin in the Round 2 slot. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick40 Rnd2 Ja'Tavion Sanders
No edge and no loss on Ja'Tavion Sanders in the 40th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick44 Rnd2 T'Vondre Sweat
They went early on T'Vondre Sweat in No. 44, and the value did not follow. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick65 Rnd3 Edgerrin Cooper
Edgerrin Cooper at No. 65 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick78 Rnd3 Zach Frazier
Zach Frazier at pick 78 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick81 Rnd3 Christian Haynes
They took Christian Haynes at par in pick No. 81, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick101 Rnd4 Marshawn Kneeland
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Marshawn Kneeland. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick118 Rnd4 Donovan Jackson
They paid sticker price for Donovan Jackson in the 118th overall pick, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick121 Rnd4 Jordan Travis
They reached into another round for Jordan Travis, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick145 Rnd5 Ben Sinnott
They liked Ben Sinnott enough to skip the value, taking him in the 145th pick. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick150 Rnd5 Darius Robinson
No drama and no debate, Darius Robinson went about where he belonged in slot 150. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick154 Rnd5 Ainias Smith
Ainias Smith in No. 154 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick168 Rnd5 Christian Jones
They paid up for Christian Jones at the Round 5 slot when waiting would have done the job. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick194 Rnd6 J.J. Weaver
A big swing on J.J. Weaver at Round 6, Pick 19, well ahead of any board in the building. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick236 Rnd7 Jordan Toles
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jordan Toles this early at pick 236. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
