Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureC-
A masterclass at the trade table lands the Bears a B.

If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Bears, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend.

That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Adding Justin Jefferson by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Marvin Harrison Jr.
In pick 1 they get a go-to option on the outside. A real need, handled.
Pick32 Rnd1 JT Tuimoloau
In pick No. 32 they get a bendy edge with upside at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick48 Rnd2 Kalen King
Nothing to complain about; Kalen King went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick97 Rnd3 Andrew Mukuba
Fair-plus on Andrew Mukuba, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A minor need, but a need all the same.
