The steal of the weekend belongs to the Chargers and Tampa: D.

The Chargers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and T.J. Tampa fell into pick 139. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The cost of the Nugent reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The Jahan Dotson pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
