The Commanders lost the trade table, and the C tells the story.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Commanders reached some 44 spots for Dont'e Thornton Jr., and value like that does not grow back. For now it grades a C, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. Trapilo falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
