The phones were a trap the Broncos kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal.

Drake Maye is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. A whole weekend of picks and linebacker is somehow still a want. If Frost pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

Bottom line, it will take a lot of luck to make this look better later.
