This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: DJ Giddens, the No. 165 name on the board, stolen at No. 248.

They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. If Buchanan pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.

The back end got a real overhaul.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
