Harden should have been long gone. The Bears pounced, and earned a A-.

If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Bears, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend.

They banked enough surplus on Harden to cover a lot of smaller sins. It is not that Taylor-Demerson is a bad player; it is that the Bears had louder needs to answer first.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped linebacker, which is a strange place to end up. Every board in the league had Johnson lower, and that gap is the story.

A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.
