Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Commanders and Washington: B.

Call it larceny. A'Mauri Washington sat on the board until the 71st pick, and the Commanders did not need to be asked twice.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. Tight end is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

The back end got a real overhaul.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Leonard Moore
In pick 7 they get a ballhawk on the outside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick71 Rnd3 A'Mauri Washington
Taking A'Mauri Washington in Round 3, Pick 7 is close to grand larceny; an interior defensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. It fills a real need, too.
Pick155 Rnd5 Braelin Moore
A reasonable price with a little left over, Braelin Moore in slot 155. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick185 Rnd6 Mason Curtis
Mason Curtis slid further than he should have, and the 185th overall pick is lovely value for the safety. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick186 Rnd6 Niki Prongos
Niki Prongos at the Round 6 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick196 Rnd6 Andrew Rappleyea
Good price on Andrew Rappleyea in No. 196, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick223 Rnd7 La'khi Roland
La'khi Roland at pick No. 223 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
