Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Packers: B-.

Priorities are a choice, and the Packers made a strange one, taking James Williams at safety in Round 4, Pick 35 with quarterback, tight end and other spots crying out for the pick instead. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

Reaching for Ugwoegbu left real value on the table behind him. On value alone, Speights makes the weekend a net positive. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Kamren Kinchens
In pick 25 they get a two-high chess piece. Need was not the driver here.
Pick41 Rnd2 Tyler Guyton
A straight-up fair deal on Tyler Guyton at the 41st pick, value and slot in agreement. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick57 Rnd2 Kiran Amegadjie
They did well to land Kiran Amegadjie in Round 2, Pick 25, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick88 Rnd3 Gabriel Murphy
Nothing to complain about; Gabriel Murphy went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick92 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Mike Sainristil at the Round 3 slot is the proof. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick125 Rnd4 Ainias Smith
Ainias Smith in slot 125 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick135 Rnd4 James Williams
A surprising call. With quarterback, tight end and other spots still to address, they spent pick No. 135 on James Williams, a safety they were not short of.
Pick203 Rnd6 David Ugwoegbu
David Ugwoegbu in pick 203 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The roster logic is harder to follow.
Pick217 Rnd6 Kenny Logan Jr.
A quiet steal in the 217th overall pick: Kenny Logan Jr. for less than the market said. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick219 Rnd6 Omar Speights
Omar Speights in the 219th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick246 Rnd7 Carson Steele
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Carson Steele. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
