Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall B-

Daniels is the Patriots' new face under center. Grade: B-.

Start where it matters. The Patriots took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.

They banked enough surplus on Sainristil to cover a lot of smaller sins. If Kamara pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In the 3rd pick they get their guy under center for the next decade. A real need, handled.
Pick35 Rnd2 Xavier Legette
You do not let a wide receiver like Xavier Legette reach Round 2, Pick 3 and blink. They did not. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick67 Rnd3 Brian Thomas Jr.
A quiet steal in pick 67: Brian Thomas Jr. for less than the market said. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick104 Rnd4 Mohamed Kamara
Mohamed Kamara at the 104th overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick140 Rnd5 Ben Sinnott
A wild overpay on Ben Sinnott in slot 140, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick181 Rnd6 Mike Sainristil
Taking Mike Sainristil in No. 181 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick190 Rnd6 Joe Milton III
Joe Milton III in pick No. 190 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick224 Rnd7 Reuben Fatheree II
A reach on Reuben Fatheree II in the Round 7 slot; the board had better options right there. It fills a real need, too.
