You can draft well and still miss the point. The 49ers did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to wide receiver, which was the need that mattered most. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
