SBOTW DRAFTING FOR THETitans
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Titans
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Titans: B. For all the boxes ticked, the Titans skipped the loudest one: edge rusher is exactly as bare as it was.
However the rest shakes out, Tate at that price is a win they earned. They will need Everette to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Francis Mauigoa
In the 3rd pick they get protection for the quarterback at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick35
Rnd2
Carnell Tate
A slide stopped in the 35th overall pick, with Carnell Tate worth more than the price. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick67
Rnd3
Taurean York
Taurean York at pick 67 is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick103
Rnd4
Daylen Everette
Daylen Everette at No. 103 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick181
Rnd6
Jordan Castell
They read the board right and Jordan Castell was the payoff at pick No. 181. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
