The trade table was where it all came apart. The Bears shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. Put together, it is a D+.

Barton falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Whatever Caleb Williams becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Reaching for Nugent left real value on the table behind him.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
