Draft Grade — Lions
Overall

FutureD
The Lions robbed the room for Devonshire. Final grade: D-. The phones were a trap the Lions kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. Too much went sideways, and the D- is the honest tally.
Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Devonshire pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.
The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, safety very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Cooper DeJean
In the 24th overall pick they get a potential shutdown corner at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick34
Rnd2
Jackson Powers-Johnson
Nothing to complain about; Jackson Powers-Johnson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick48
Rnd2
Cooper Beebe
No edge and no loss on Cooper Beebe in Round 2, Pick 16; it is a wash and a sensible one. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick61
Rnd2
Braden Fiske
A tidy little value on Braden Fiske in slot 61, a step better than break-even. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick73
Rnd3
Ja'Lynn Polk
A straight-up fair deal on Ja'Lynn Polk at pick 73, value and slot in agreement. The roster fit checks out.
Pick97
Rnd3
Marshawn Kneeland
The board had Marshawn Kneeland higher than the 97th pick, and the edge rusher fell to them anyway. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick216
Rnd6
M.J. Devonshire
M.J. Devonshire in pick 216 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick249
Rnd7
Edefuan Ulofoshio
A slide stopped in slot 249, with Edefuan Ulofoshio worth more than the price. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
