After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Patriots committed. Jayden Daniels is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.

They will need Baker to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

They banked enough surplus on Williams to cover a lot of smaller sins. With edge rusher, interior defensive lineman and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on OLB-EDGE is the choice that costs them.
