Draft Grade — Giants
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Giants a B-.

Nobody had Jalen Milroe this high, and it is not close. The Giants reached 29 spots to get him at Round 3, Pick 1. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

The safety spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Gray falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 7 of 9 of the wish list covered.

The back end got a real overhaul.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Travis Hunter
In Round 1, Pick 3 they get a sticky cover corner. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Derrick Harmon
A tidy little value on Derrick Harmon in the 34th pick, a step better than break-even. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick65 Rnd3 Jalen Milroe
Jalen Milroe at pick 65 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick99 Rnd3 Chimere Dike
No edge and no loss on Chimere Dike in the Round 3 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick105 Rnd4 Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo at pick No. 105 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It fills a real need, too.
Pick154 Rnd5 Barryn Sorrell
A premium they did not need to pay, Barryn Sorrell a notch or two before his time. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick219 Rnd7 Joshua Gray
Value with a capital V on Joshua Gray in No. 219, a genuine coup. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick246 Rnd7 Donovan Smith
Value said wait; Donovan Smith in Round 7, Pick 30 says they were not listening. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
