Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Bills let Washington fall and pounced. Final grade: B.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Malik Washington tumbling to the Bills in pick No. 159 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

The Hunt pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with safety, running back and other spots still on the board. A whole weekend of picks and safety is somehow still a want. Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Troy Franklin
In Round 1, Pick 28 they get a weapon on the perimeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick60 Rnd2 Ennis Rakestraw Jr.
Ennis Rakestraw Jr. in slot 60 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick99 Rnd3 Braden Fiske
A top-tier interior defensive lineman at a bargain, Braden Fiske in the 99th overall pick, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick129 Rnd4 Jalyx Hunt
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Jalyx Hunt at S-EDGE with safety, running back and other spots open.
Pick159 Rnd5 Malik Washington
The board fumbled Malik Washington all the way to pick 159, and they scooped it up. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick162 Rnd5 Sincere Haynesworth
By-the-book stuff, Sincere Haynesworth at No. 162 squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick197 Rnd6 JD Bertrand
JD Bertrand at the Round 6 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick202 Rnd6 Ethan Driskell
Ethan Driskell at pick No. 202 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick206 Rnd6 Braiden McGregor
They paid up for Braiden McGregor at pick 206 when waiting would have done the job. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick246 Rnd7 Taulia Tagovailoa
Taulia Tagovailoa in No. 246 is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
