The Colts lost the trade table, and the D tells the story.

Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Colts spent the Round 6 slot on Edefuan Ulofoshio, a name most had 45 spots down the list. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.

The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
